In what do we believe? Firstly, we are Christians by choice and not by birth. Each one of us has made a conscious decision to believe in and follow the Son of God, as well as submitting to God’s will in our lives. Our aim in life is to follow God’s guidance for us as well as his commandments, knowing that His will is always correct and good for us. We believe that Jesus Christ is the supreme example of faith and behaviour. Through Him is established the basis of our faith. Jesus Christ, Himself said, that he is the way, the truth and the life. Secondly, we firmly believe in the divine inspiration of the sacred word, written in the Holy Bible, both the Old and the New Testaments. The Holy Scriptures form the basis of all our beliefs. We do not accept human beings or institutions, which set themselves between us and the Holy Scriptures. What the Bible says about the salvation of man is crystal clear and needs no further interpretation. The Bible is self- explanatory and shows clearly God’s wishes. Thirdly, we are evangelicals. We believe that Jesus Christ did not create a specific religion. He gave Peter, his Apostle, the keys of the Kingdom, in order to open the Gospel to all nations. We believe that Peter had no successors, and that Jesus Christ has no substitutes on this earth. His sacrifice is not repeatable and was perfect. We believe that Maria and the saints are great models of faith and that their lives can be an example for us. We reject the idea that they can intercede between us and God. Only one single mediator exists between the human race and God, and He is Jesus Christ. In the New Testament it is written, “For there is only one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity – the man Christ Jesus.” (1Timothy. 2:5) Fourthly, as instructed by Jesus Christ, we meet on a regular basis to sing, pray, read the Bible and receive bread and wine. We try hard to follow Jesus Christ’s teachings in our daily life, whether at work, in our families, our spare time or in the management of our financial affairs. Fifthly, as God promised, we eagerly await the return of Jesus Christ. He will return with immense power and glory, in the same way that He rose to Heaven after His resurrection. “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.” (John14:1-3)
