Following Christ

Luke 9:23

Then He said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow me.

..to the crowd.. We are all called to make a decision, to follow the Lord or not.

..if any of you wants.. It is a free choice for all. The choice can only be yes or no, there are no halfway possibilities. The Lord is just!!!

..turn from your selfish.. In order to follow Him completely we must turn from our inward looking selves.

..daily.. Everyday is a new start, a new day, which we can devote to our Lord.

..follow me.. It is the greatest wish of our Lord that we follow Him, but is it really at the top of our priority list??

Luke 13:24

Work hard to enter the narrow door to God’s Kingdom, for many will try to enter but will fail.

John 3:36

Anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgement.

Basically, it is a free choice. It is the wish of our Creator, our Lord and our Father that we should follow Him. The choice is, however, up to us.
